Course Content

Introduction
Most road accidents, injuries, disabilities, deaths, and life-long trauma that follows road accident survivors are preventable. Sometimes, a lack of information on how to conduct yourself is all that’s needed to maintain sanity on the roads and encourage safe driving habits while respecting other road users. This is the main objective of this course: to be a constant reminder that secure, safe, and defensive driving can save more lives on the roads.

Chapter 1: Obtaining your Driver’s License
This chapter outlines the process for obtaining your provisional and general driver’s licenses, upgrading them to a different weight and size classification, and ensuring they remain in good standing with the law. The key to maintaining a clean driving record is to always remember that "Driving is a privilege, not a right." This privilege can be revoked if you fail to adhere to legal expectations. Deciding to acquire a driver’s license is a significant step. Once obtained, you will join the millions of Jamaicans who operate motor vehicles on the nation’s roadways.
